1. Our commitment
Data centers are safety-critical, high-security environments that run some of the world’s most important infrastructure. EdgeTech IT supplies people who work safely, follow procedures exactly and protect our clients’ sites, hardware and information. This page summarizes the standards every consultant we place is expected to meet, and what clients and prime vendors can expect from us.
2. Safety program
- Training: OSHA 10 is the minimum for field roles, with OSHA 30 for site leads and supervisors. Consultants complete each client’s site orientation before starting work.
- Daily safety: crews start every shift with a safety briefing (toolbox talk). Site leads perform safety walks throughout the day.
- PPE: safety footwear, eye protection, hi-vis, hard hats, gloves, hearing protection, ESD protection and arc-flash PPE as each task and site requires.
- Stop-work authority: every consultant can and must stop work if they see an unsafe condition, without fear of retaliation.
- Lifts and lifting: only trained and authorized people operate mobile elevated work platforms and lifting equipment; team lifts for heavy hardware.
- Electrical safety: NFPA 70E, arc-flash boundaries and lockout/tagout for all electrical work, which is performed only by qualified people.
- Incidents and near misses: reported immediately to the site lead, the client and EdgeTech IT, investigated, and followed by corrective actions.
3. Screening and qualification
- Technical screening by experienced data center practitioners before submission.
- Verification of certifications and licenses (OSHA, BICSI, fiber, electrical and others) and references.
- Background checks with candidate authorization under the FCRA, and 10-panel drug screens where sites require them.
- Confirmation of work authorization through the consultant’s corporation or C2C employer.
- Compliance with fair chance hiring laws and individualized assessments.
4. Site security and confidentiality
- Badge, escort and access rules followed at all times; no tailgating.
- No photos, video or recordings on site; phones and devices only where the site permits.
- Strict confidentiality about client names, site locations, layouts, equipment and security arrangements, including on social media.
- Chain-of-custody handling for customer hardware, drives and data-bearing media.
- Non-disclosure agreements signed before work begins.
5. Quality and procedures
- Work performed to the client’s methods of procedure (MOPs), standards and change-control process.
- Self-checks against quality checklists, plus site lead and client audits.
- ESD protection and correct handling for all hardware.
- Accurate, same-day updates to tickets, trackers and timesheets.
- Prompt correction of audit findings, with lessons shared across crews.
6. Consultant code of conduct
- Arrive on time, fit for duty and free from the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Treat everyone on site with respect. Harassment, discrimination, threats and violence are never tolerated.
- Record time honestly and only for hours actually worked.
- Do not accept gifts, payments or favors that could influence your work, and report any bribery or corruption request.
- Disclose any conflict of interest, including work for a competing vendor on the same site.
- Follow every client policy and lawful instruction from site leadership.
Concerns can be raised with your site lead, your account manager or confidentially at hr@edgetechit.us. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
7. Insurance and vendor qualification
EdgeTech IT maintains business insurance appropriate to staffing on data center programs and provides certificates of insurance to clients and prime vendors on request. Coverage typically includes general liability, workers’ compensation as required, automobile liability, umbrella liability and professional liability (errors and omissions).
For C2C engagements, the consultant’s corporation or C2C employer is required to maintain the insurance specified in its C2C agreement. We can complete supplier onboarding, security questionnaires and contractor prequalification platforms required by clients and prime vendors.
