1. Who we are and scope
EdgeTech IT LLC (“EdgeTech IT,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is a US-based data center staffing and IT services company. We place technicians, engineers, site leads and project managers on data center and IT projects, mainly on corp-to-corp (C2C) contracts and as a supplier to prime vendors and managed service providers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you:
- visit www.edgetechit.us or any page that links to this policy (the “Site”);
- contact us, request talent or submit a hiring requirement;
- apply for a job, join our talent network or refer a candidate;
- work on an assignment through us as a consultant, either through your own corporation or a C2C employer;
- use our employee and consultant portal; or
- otherwise interact with us in sales, recruiting or account management.
This policy does not cover personal information we handle on behalf of a client while working on their systems or sites; the client’s own policies apply to that. Client data centers also operate their own security systems (see Client sites, security and access control).

- Prime vendors, MSPs and clients, for example interview feedback, site access status, timesheet approvals and performance feedback.
Sensitive personal information
Some information we handle is sensitive: government identification numbers, immigration or work authorization status, background check results, drug test results and bank account details. We collect it only when needed for site access, legal compliance, screening or payment; we limit who can see it; and we never use it to infer characteristics about you. Voluntary equal employment opportunity information, if requested, is kept separate from hiring decisions.
3. How we use information
| Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|
| Recruiting and placement | Reviewing applications, screening and interviewing, matching you to roles, and submitting your profile to a prime vendor or client with your approval. |
| Onboarding and site access | Background checks, drug screens, verifying certifications, requesting site badges and completing client onboarding. |
| Managing assignments | Timesheets, scheduling, travel and per diem, performance feedback, extensions and redeployment to new projects. |
| Safety and compliance | Safety training records, incident reporting and investigation, meeting client, prime vendor and legal requirements. |
| Invoicing and payment | Processing invoices from your corporation or C2C employer and paying them on the agreed terms. |
| Client relationships | Responding to inquiries, preparing proposals and managing staffing programs. |
| Communications | Contacting you by email, phone or text message about roles, assignments and onboarding (see Text messages). |
| Operating the Site and portal | Maintaining, securing and improving the Site and portal, and preventing spam, fraud and recruitment scams. |
| Legal obligations | Tax, record-keeping, employment, immigration-related document requests you make, and responding to lawful requests. |
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. People make every hiring and placement decision.
5. Background checks and drug screening
Most data center sites require background checks and drug screens before a badge is issued.
- Your authorization first: we run a background check only after giving you a separate written disclosure and receiving your written authorization, as required by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable state laws.
- What is checked: typically identity, criminal history for 7–10 years, employment verification and, where the site requires it, motor vehicle records. Drug screens are typically 10-panel tests at an approved collection site.
- Your rights: if we may decide not to place you based on a report, we will first give you a copy of the report and a summary of your rights, and a chance to respond, before making a final decision.
- Fair chance hiring: we follow applicable state and local fair chance laws and consider each case individually.
- Confidentiality: results are kept confidential, stored separately from general recruiting records, and shared with clients only as needed to confirm that you are cleared for the site.
6. Client sites, security and access control
Data centers are high-security facilities. When you work on a client site:
- The client may record your entry and exit through badge systems, monitor areas with CCTV, and use biometric access controls such as hand or fingerprint readers.
- Those systems are operated by the client (or its security provider) under the client’s own policies and any notices the client provides. EdgeTech IT does not operate or receive biometric data from them.
- Sites may restrict phones, cameras and personal devices, and may search bags and vehicles under their security rules.
- Safety incidents and security events may be documented and shared between the client, the prime vendor and us as needed to investigate and prevent recurrence.
7. Text messages
Recruiters and account managers may contact you by text message about job opportunities, interviews, onboarding steps and assignment updates, if you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
- Consent to receive texts is not a condition of applying or of any assignment.
- We do not sell or share mobile numbers or text messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
| Type | Purpose | Can I turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Core site features, security and remembering your cookie choice. | No. The Site needs these to work. |
| Analytics | Understanding how visitors use the Site (Google Analytics 4), for example which pages are visited and which forms are submitted. Loaded only after you accept. | Yes. Decline in the cookie banner or clear your choice in your browser. |
| Advertising measurement | If we run Google Ads, measuring whether an ad click led to an inquiry or application (conversion tracking). Loaded only after you accept. We do not use these cookies to show you personalized ads or remarketing. | Yes. Decline in the cookie banner, or manage ad settings at adssettings.google.com. |
| Third-party features | Embedded tools such as maps, scheduling or live chat may set their own cookies when you use them. | Yes, through your browser settings or by not using the feature. |
We do not use cookies for remarketing or personalized advertising. Google tags run in Google Consent Mode, so no analytics or advertising cookies are set until you accept. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we do not show the banner and do not load these tags. We also treat a GPC signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. Because there is no common standard for “Do Not Track” signals, we do not respond to them separately.
9. Data retention
- Applications and talent network profiles: up to 3 years after your last contact with us, so we can consider you for future data center projects, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Assignment, timesheet, invoicing and C2C agreement records: for the length of the relationship plus the period required for tax, contract and audit purposes (typically 7 years).
- Background check and drug screen records: as long as required by law and client contracts, and then securely destroyed.
- Safety and incident records: for the periods required by OSHA and other applicable rules.
- Business contact and client records: for the length of the relationship and up to 3 years afterwards.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months.
When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.
10. How we protect information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, role-based access limits, multi-factor authentication, logging and monitoring, separate storage for screening results, vendor security reviews and staff training.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank details or ID images through website forms or ordinary email; we will give you a secure way to provide them when they are needed. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access / know the personal information we hold about you and how we use and share it.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information, subject to legal exceptions (for example records we must keep for tax, safety or audit purposes).
- Portability: receive a copy of your information in a portable format.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising and certain profiling. We do not do any of these.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information, where applicable.
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
To make a request, email vinod@edgetechit.us with the subject “Privacy request,” or call +1 (814) 323-1767. We verify your identity by matching details you provide with our records and respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of their authority. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision.

13. Recruitment fraud warning
Scammers sometimes pose as recruiters from real companies. EdgeTech IT will never:

- send you a check and ask you to buy equipment or return money;
- ask for bank details, passwords or payment card information before a written offer and onboarding;
- conduct interviews only by text message or chat app; or
- send offers from personal email addresses.
Official communication comes only from @edgetechit.us addresses. If you receive a suspicious message using our name, report it to hr@edgetechit.us.
14. Children’s privacy
The Site and our services are intended for businesses and job seekers aged 18 and over. Data center roles require candidates to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where state law applies). 15. Third-party links and services
The Site links to or embeds third-party websites and tools (for example LinkedIn, Google Maps, scheduling, chat, job boards and client VMS platforms). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Please review them before giving them information.
16. International visitors
We are based in the United States and the Site is intended for US audiences. If you access it from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
